It's close to the holidays! And what do you know, that parasitic plant is back to wreck havoc on everyone's timeline.

Mistletoe.
When his feet refuse to budge, he assumes he's been hit by a Graviga spell, but nope. He feels no particular pressure holding him down, and when he looks up and sees the plant, his face turns beet red.]
How'd that even...?
[Last he checked, mistletoe never did that.]
:3
Not enough to notice the mistletoe of course. Her feet aren't moving and her first assumption is the same as his, until she sees him staring at the plant as well.]
Is that... supposed to be mistletoe?
[She's only heard of (and seen) it second-hand, of course, mostly through memories. The meaning of it doesn't strike her as much as it did the Replica, making her confused over his reaction.
She reaches out to touch his forehead. He is heating up, but not enough for sickness.]
Are you feeling okay? Your face...

[He coughs into his hand, trying to play it cool. No need to make her nervous by extension, right? They can deal with this. Heck, it's probably just some weird prank.]
Just a little... surprised. I never expected something like this.
[Maybe one of the elves is playing a prank on him because he didn't buy into Santa at first. Some kind of weird, Christmas magic.
no subject
Well, it's not making her nervous so much as worried for his sake. She retracts her hand, bringing it close and curls the other around it to keep warm, and glances around. There's barely anyone around the square right now.]
Maybe this is a mistake? Like someone's placed a spell on it.

[And cue some shaky laughter, while he runs a hand through his hair.]
If I had to guess, the only way to get outta this is... well.
[Aaand he goes silent. This is not how he anticipated getting his first kiss. How's he supposed to even handle this? After all, he always had this mental image of sweeping her off her feet.
Now he's just staring and fidgeting. Man, he probably looks stupid right about now...]

...Oh. [Well, she finally gets it and feels a bit silly for the delayed time. She purses her lips, fidgeting on the spot herself. How was she supposed to do this? Kisses meant love, and love was an emotion that she was incapable of. And she... well she cared about him greatly, but it wasn't the same was it?]
Um, how... how do we do this?
Sure, pimpin' out a Riku just because things are fun when they're awkward.
[ It'd been about a week since she'd set off with him to try and figure herself out. Not exactly an easy thing to do. On one hand, live and have this other guy forever coma. On the other, wake him up by poofing into memory pixie dust. Clearly, she has not had the greatest week. Could things possibly get any worse?
Apparently, the fauna in Wonderland think to make it so. She's been generally pretty attentive to her surroundings, granted. It's what she does. And she knows she especially should with what that world can be like. But when you're distracted by a handful of Heartless, that's another thing entirely. A duck and a hop back and she's... finding her feet anchored to the ground under a great, invisible weight. She can at least give her keyblade a good swing, cutting down the last Heartless after her at the moment. Her eyes flicker across the area, but there isn't any sort of new Heartless and she didn't feel anything cast on her...
Screw it. She's going to try to do something about this. Even if it means trying to pull her own feet off the ground. ...Which might not have been a good idea. Hello, Heartless. Maybe she shouldn't have dropped her keyblade-- oh, wait. Flickering back into her hands at the last moment to at least block that attack if not with an-- ] Oof! [ Little help? ]
fuck yeah awkwaaaardness 83 and that canon point is fine
He's been keeping an eye on her, as much as he can anyways. With their little game of hot and cold and with their encounter ending with her having more time to think, Riku hasn't been purposely trying to avoid or stalk her. Just observe her from a distance and make sure she's okay. After all, aside from the Sora memory stealing stuff, she is still a person, and someone who needs some guidance.
And help from the looks of it. He doesn't absolutely hate Wonderland, but the place tries his patience more and more every time he comes back to it. The constant changing in size, cryptic residents and loopholes and exits that never made sense, he has to wonder how Sora survived being here in the first place. Sheesh.
But there is someone in the grass there that doesn't look like she belongs, and with the Heartless attacking her, Riku's quick to act. Coming in at a sprint, he leaps into the air with his keyblade high and comes down hard on one of the shadows, and releases a Dark Firaga on another. You wanted help, you got it.]
/o/ Alrighty. Just checking.
Not to mention, she was totally gonna recover and aim for the kill there. But-- okay, someone takes to giving that Heartless in front of her a finishing blow. And as a bonus? Fries the other one. And that someone is none other than- ] Riku?
[ Her voice is startled, edgy. Perhaps as if she almost expected someone else in that coat. ...Not that it's a far off assumption. Usually... but, no. None of the other Organization members use a keyblade aside from Roxas. And Roxas doesn't go running around with his hood up never mind he'd make his presence known. Not that all that really matters when there's one more Shadow leaping towards her. She manages to bash it away, causing it to nullify and the heart to go floating away. But that's not what she's worried about. She's trying to move again, but no. Still suck. Crap.
She pulls with her one leg and then with her other, but they're both held fast to the ground just as she's held fast creasing her brows in frustration and mild panic. ]
Calling for one amazing Tear.
Cheeks turning red, Luke stared at Tear and then looked up at the Mistletoe. He's eyes darted back to her, and up again, and he finally stopped and maintained eye-contact with her.
Except that's a like and he quickly looks away as he can feel the heat in his face. ]
Why is that there?
no subject
When he looks away, Tear finally looks up at his face, her own cheeks getting hot. Argh, she could strike the thing down with her staff, but would that help Luke? It might offend him...]
Probably some sort of a prank, by Anise or Jade. I might be able to reach it with my staff.
no subject
Can you, really? I mean.. you don't need to... [ God, this was really awkward. ]
It's probably best, huh..
no subject
Her face just keeps getting hotter and now it's her turn to look away.]
Luke, don't be indecisive. Either you want me to get rid of it or not.
no subject
[ Because half the time he either screws up, or just regrets it.
Maybe it was best to let Tear decide. ]
no subject
Tear raises her staff, hums a few notes of a hymn and expects it to burn from the spells. Only, its not. The dumb plant isn't even singed.]
What--?
no subject
Staring at it for a few seconds, Luke finally turned his attention to Tear. ]
It didn't work...?
