Noctis's 17 year old little bro
Has lived in the citadel all his life, but often visited Noctis when he moved into his penthouse.
Surprisingly self-sufficient. He learned how to cook and clean and more or less take care of himself all while in the Citadel.
Actually likes to cook, even though he isn't as good as Ignis. He will be more than happy to cook for people.
BUT NOCTIS. Any and every chance he has, Riku will make cooked vegetables and serve them to his brother as a form of "torture" (Noct's words, not his)
Whenever he visited Noctis, they would always end up playing video games together.
Went to regular school, just like his older brother.
Best friends with Sora and Kairi, who he met at school c:
Has a Shield, Terra Amicitia, and Aqua, his adviser.
Having a Shield is a bit of a source of contention for him and he's had several arguments with Regis over the matter.
He takes his princely duties and training more seriously than his brother, though he does admit that politics is kind of boring...
Secreeeetly might be jealous of Noctis, because he's going to ascend and become King and he won't. Eventually, he gets over this once after Insomnia falls.
Gets on his brother's ass about things too, like eating veggies and doodling on his face when he falls asleep.
Compared to Noctis, Riku actually tends to often have trouble sleeping himself.
Trains with both Terra and Gladio almost daily and has been since he was 10.
Known for having a little too much "FITE ME D8" in him and also he will not respect your authority.
CHILD IS INTENSE and he knows it. He's also sarcastic, sometimes sassy and 50% of the time, has no filter.
The only people he listens too pretty much are Regis, Aqua and Ignis, Lunafreya, most of the Crownsguard and Cor. Especially Cor.
Has a cute little puppy crush on Iris Amicitia, that is known to everyone but Iris and at first Noctis. This becomes fuel to tease him with for both their bros (except Terra because Love Is Awkward Whatdoido). He knows it's unrequited and grows out of it though.
Loves racing games and King's Knight.
Isn't so good with Chocobo wrangling or riding...
Girls make him fluster more often than not. Especially Cindy :D
Might actually be good at break dancing, and aspires to do Terra's Handstand Benchpress one day. Secretly loves pop music.
"Riku" actually might just be a nickname he chose to start calling himself (idk about this)
Around the same time Regis prepped the Regalia for Noctis, he gifts RIku with a ride motorcycle, which is seen as a bad idea by all since Riku's often seen as the more unrestrained, independent child. Regardless, he's extremely grateful for the ride for the gift.
....He literally hit the gas pedal and zoomed right out of that garage the moment he could though...
Present for the fall of Insomnia and was also listed as dead along with his family. Managed to escape with thanks to Terra and Aqua
Was originally supposed to go to Altissia with Lunafreya and that party, but got separated from them in the chaos.
Often gets separated from is own Shield and Adviser. Aqua and Terra tend to find themselves searching for Riku on their own bikes more than anything. Eventually they find him, but he often goes off on his own.
During the ten years that Noctis ~~is marinading in the Crystal~~ disappears, he finds his own powers have been slowly fading, only allowing him to summon his own sword. It comes back for one last hurrah when his brother returns and then disappear forever when Noctis makes his sacrifice.
During those ten years, he makes a Hunting party with Iris and his own friends (and quite possibly Namine)
Known for being awfully perceptive. He will admit to a chosen few that he's had a feeling Noctis was the True King for most of his life.
Above all else, Namine must be Ravus' and Luna's little sister in this universe. This is absolutely required. And Riku might marry her in the future idk let my little shipper heart have this

i just realized it's dad's birthday in a week
the bunny slippers worked last year but i don't think we can pull the same stunt again

yeah. those slippers were a little too perfect. i don't know. maybe a beard kit? think we could at least ask ignis or aqua to make a cake for him?

[he doesn't know what kind of relationship riku and their father have, mostly because he hasn't wanted to be involved in it. he has his own issues, and being allowed to have this much freedom and independence has basically cemented and solidified the rift between them.]

[Riku's not dumb. He knows there's a rift between his brother and father. It's been there for years, brewing and forcing them farther apart. His own relationship with their dad, the king, might be a bit more healthy than Noct's, but there's only so much time you can spend with a man who meets with other nobles and dignitaries.

He's always just understood that it was just the way things were, and he was allowed to have his own freedom and choices to make. But that doesn't stop the younger brother from wanting to feel like his family is whole.

He wishes there was no rift and no awkward distance between them, but he has never felt so powerless and lost before.]

You better. I'm holding you to it or I'm warping over to your place and dragging your sorry butt with me. And I'm not letting Iggy stop me either.
